The annual contest to see who can craft the best story provided dozens of Polk School District students work that was honored for the Georgia Young Authors contest.

Each school honored a student on the grade level, and the Polk School District chose a student from each grade level to honor districtwide for the 2024 contest.

The district’s youngest author honored was Cherokee Elementary’s Asa Brown. First grader Annaleigh Johnson, second grader Daisy Duckett and third grader Annistyn Earwood at Eastside Elementary took the next grade level awards.

Logan Tracy at Cherokee Elementary took the fourth grade award, and Audri-Ella Ramzanali at Van Wert Elementary took the fifth grade award for the district.

The middle grade winners included Rockmart’s Braelyn Kenzie Thomas, and Cedartown’s Marley English and I’Anyah Robinson.
