Mr. Stephen “Wayne” McCrickard, age 66, of Cedartown, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024.
Wayne was born December 5, 1957, in Columbus, Georgia, son of Jo Ann McCrickard and the late Grady Carl McCrickard.
Wayne spent his childhood years in the Woodstock and Acworth area and the entirety of his adulthood in Cedartown.
He found great joy in collecting antique bottles and Civil War paperwork. He was of the Baptist faith, and he particularly enjoyed photography. Wayne had a long career at HON Industries, having retired after thirty years of employment.
More than anything, Wayne loved his family. He always made time for his son, Ryan, and enjoyed any time they spent together.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David McCrickard and Ronald McCrickard.
Wayne is survived by his mother, Jo Ann McCrickard; son, Ryan McCrickard (Keidra); granddaughter, Ariel McCrickard; sister, Cheryll Couch; a niece, and multiple nephews.
Funeral services to honor his life will be held Friday, April 26, 2024, at 4:00 PM, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with pastor Mike Barone officiating, and a eulogy given by Ryan McCrickard. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends also on Friday, at the funeral home, from 3:00 PM until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers will include Ryan McCrickard, Flip Jenkins, Blane Edwards, David Couch, Scott Couch, and Jordan Wolff.
