The City of Aragon provided an opportunity for youth to ensure the first weekend off from school was a fun one for people of all ages.

The Aragon Kids Fishing Rodeo took over the Mill Pond starting on Saturday morning and through mid-afternoon for the return of an annual event that this year was put together by the city along with the help of Aragon First United Methodist, who served hot dogs and made sure inflatables and a rock wall were available for the afternoon as well.

Aragon First United Methodist was also at the event and provided youth with a rock wall, inflatables and food to enjoy.

Among the other activities during the event included traditional field day games and challenges, like sack races, egg tosses and a slippery try for youth to get up a greased pole for a cash prize on top.

Despite multiple tries from a determined group of local youth to get up the pole, they were unable to secure the $50 prize on top.

The annual event held in June was suspended in 2020 due to the pandemic, but is usually organized on a cooperative effort between the city and the Davitte Lodge F & AM in Aragon.
