Mrs. Jean Glaze

Mrs. Buddie Jean Odom Glaze, age 87, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021. She was born on June 15, 1934 in Cedartown, Georgia.  She was the daughter of the late Henry and Cleo Camp Odom.  

Mrs. Glaze is survived by her husband, James E. Glaze; daughters, LaJean and husband Ralf Gruhn, Lori and husband Tom Parker, Gaye and husband Scott Scholler, Gwen and husband James Powell, Shelly and husband Eric Dudley; sons, Jim Glaze and wife Tami and John Glaze and wife Lisa; eighteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Glaze is preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Odom and sisters, Helen Odom Buford and Margie Odom Reedy.

Mrs. Glaze was a devoted and beloved wife for sixty eight years. As a mother she was a role model to her seven children and to young mothers that knew her.

She loved traveling and was an accomplished hostess. She served as a U.S. Ambassador’s representative and in various leadership roles including President of the Military Wives’ Organizations. She also served as Director of Vacation Bible School and taught Sunday School in her church for many years.

The family of Mrs. Glaze will receive friends at the Gammage Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening.

A family graveside service for Mrs. Buddie Jean Glaze will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 20121 at eleven o’clock in the morning at the Northview Cemetery with Rev. Danny Horsley officiating.

A Celebration of Jean’s life will be held at Harmony Baptist Church on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at two o’clock in the afternoon. All who knew and loved her are invited to attend.

The family is accepting flowers; however, donations can be made to the Harmony Baptist Church of Cedartown, 882 Little Harmony Road, Cedartown, Georgia, 30125.
