Mrs. Edna Ruth Smith Stephens, age 78, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. She was born on June 2, 1943, in Cedartown, GA. She was the daughter of the late George W. and Minnes Lee Stephens Smith.
Mrs. Stephens is survived by her daughters, Betty Teresa Lawless (ex-husband Anthony), Charlene Ilenich (ex-husband,Timothy) and Tonya Renee Burns (Richard); grandchildren, Chasity Witcher (Benjamin) (ex-husband, Eliaquin Moncada Martinez), Candice Ilenich, Danielle Lawless (ex-husband, Christopher Foster), and Christopher Burns; great-grandchildren, Gavin Moncada and Leo Foster; sister, Shirley Dowdy; and brothers, Billy Ray Smith (Caroline), Melvin Smith (Joan), and Mike Smith (Shelia)
Mrs. Stephens is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wendell Larry Stephens; ex-husband, Seals Glass; daughter, Shelia Glass; sisters, Catherine Smith, Bonnie Rebecca Laminack, and Betty Joyce Smith; and brothers, George Smith, Jr., Robert Smith, and Edward Smith.
The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Edna Ruth Smith Stephens will be conducted on Monday, September 13, 2021 at three o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. J.T. Witcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. James Laminack officiating.
The family of Mrs. Stephens will receive family and friends on Monday, September 13, 2021 from one o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Danny Myers, Chris Preston, Gavin Moncada, Benjamin Witcher, Nate Stallfus, Daniel Cheatwood, Thomas Burgess, Erik Burns, Michael Austin, and Gary Smith.
