Mrs. Barbara Ann James, age 76, of Taylorsville, GA, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021.

Mrs. James was born in Slocomb, AL on August 24, 1944, a daughter of the late H.L. Chavis and the late Gladys Tew Chavis. Barbara had lived the past thirty-six years in Taylorsville, moving from Roswell, GA.

She was retired from John Harland Company and after retirement worked at Cartersville High School Library and also for the City of Rockmart Library. She enjoyed reading, quilting, sewing and ceramics.

Her greatest love was her family and spending with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Timothy James.



Mrs. James is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Paul James of Taylorsville, to whom she was married on July 21, 1963; daughter, Belinda Fleming and her husband Todd, Taylorsville; four grandchildren: Haley Hale and her husband Dylan, Benjamin Fleming, Spencer Fleming and Calista James; great-grandson, Carter Hale and twin Hale great-grandsons due in August; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

In keeping with Mrs. James’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be a visitation for family and friends on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
