A man with experience in economic development closer to Polk County is the sole candidate announced by the Development Authority of Polk County to take over as the new President and CEO of the organization.
Their top choice is Chris Thomas of Taylorsville, who has served as Project Manager for the Cartersville-Bartow County Department of Economic Development since 2016.
DAPC board members gathered for a special called session this morning to announce their top choice. The board now has 14 days before they can hold an official vote to hire him. Their next meeting will be June 4.
Thomas’ previous experience also includes a stint with the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce as their membership director, and in several roles as an Associate with the LakePoint Sports Development Group.
He attended Kennesaw State University for his Bachelor’s of Business Administration.
He is also the current music director for Taylorsville Baptist Church in Taylorsville, where Thomas calls home.
Check back for more information about Thomas following the vote when the DAPC will officially hire him in the coming weeks.
