Mr. Thomas “Kent” Millican, age 72, passed away, Monday, August 28, 2023.
Mr. Millican was born, September 15, 1950, in Rome, Georgia, son of the late James H. Millican, Sr. and Elizabeth Whorton Millican.
Mr. Millican proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He retired after a thirty-year career at the Post Office and then went on to operate Allstate Insurance Company with his beloved wife, Mrs. Becky Millican. Mr. Millican was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
His presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Millican was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” Millican, and brother-in-law, Mr. Jerry Bowen.
He is survived by his children: Shay Harrell and his wife, Tina, and Jolee Harrell Gray and her husband, Davy; and grandchildren: Ben Harrell and his wife, Kenzie, Zella Harrell, Ramplee Gray, and Bex Gray. Additionally, he is survived by brothers, James Millican, Jr. and his wife, Judy, Steve Millican and his wife, Chris, and Gary Millican and his wife, Lisa; sister, Beth Millican; and sister-in-law, Barbara Bowen. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.
Services to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Roger Kiser officiating. A eulogy will be given by Miss Ramplee Gray.
Mr. Millican’s family will receive friends from 11:00 in the morning until the service hour, on September 9, 2023, at the Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in his memory.
