Overnight storms brought down several trees across Polk County according to Emergency Management officials, including one that landed on top of a car in Aragon.

Fortunately, no injuries have thus far been reported due to the stormy weather despite the totaled vehicle.

EMA Coordinator Landon Hendrix reported that at xxx p.m. on Friday during the storms, a tree came down on top of a car at the intersection of Highway 101 and Prospect Road. No injury was caused by the incident.

No road blockages due to fallen trees have been reported as well.

Severe weather began to move through Polk around 5:30 p.m. on Friday and continued through the evening as bands of showers and thunderstorms pushed through. It was the second day in a row with a severe thunderstorm watch put into place.

Power crews are working today to restore electrical service to hundreds in the aftermath of the storm. The most widespread outage is centered around the Bellview Road area in the center of the county with 345 customers without electricity.
