Mr. Stephen Douglas Teal, age 74, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023.

Stephen, better known as “Steve” or “PawPaw”, was born on May 20, 1949, in Cedartown, Georgia. He was the son of the late Ben Douglas Teal and Mary Lee Malone Teal.

A graduate of Campbell High School, Steve excelled in basketball, baseball, and track and field. He went on to play both basketball and baseball for Middle Georgia College and baseball for Atlanta Baptist College. While he passed his love of baseball on to his sons and grandson, his true passion was for the game of golf.

He was a killer scratch golfer and could school even the most skilled athlete—taking no mercy even when playing his own sons. When not on the golf course, he loved spending time with his beloved wife, Barbara, their fur babies, and bragging about his grandchildren whom he adored.

A loving husband, brother, father, and PawPaw, he will forever be missed and loved.

Mr. Teal is survived by his wife, Barbara K. Teal; sons, Jason Douglas Teal and Brad Malone Teal (Jamie); sister, Pam Blevins (Richard); brother, Tony Teal (Antonia); and grandchildren, Bethany Teal, Allie Teal and Griffin Teal.
