Make-up date for Rockmart-Aragon small businesses coming up on May 13

The Development Authority of Polk County and the Polk County Chamber of Commerce last week teamed up to make sure that small businesses know they are appreciated by their community.

Small Business Appreciation Week was celebrated across the county from May 3 through May 7, with a breakfast held for Cedartown businesses last Wednesday morning at the Cedartown Welcome Center and Depot.

New PCCCA CEO Gary Morris and Cedartown City Manager Edward Guzman enjoyed breakfast and a conversation together during the DAPC and Chamber’s Small Business Appreciation Breakfast on Wednesday, May 5.

Additionally, both the DAPC and the Chamber posted profiles on social media for various small businesses around Polk County through the week as well to bring attention to stores and services in Cedartown, Rockmart and Aragon.

The above video – produced with the help of the City of Cedartown’s Oscar Guzman – also gave small business owners a chance to speak out about how they provide goods and services to the community as well.

Though technically the week has wrapped up, the DAPC and Chamber still have one more event planned that due to flooding in Rockmart last week was forced to be postponed.

The two organizations will be hosting the Small Business Appreciation Breakfast for businesses in Aragon and Rockmart – signups still available through Tuesday morning – on Thursday, May 13 starting at 7 a.m.

Instead of using the Richardson Field Depot as was planned, the two organizations will be hosting the breakfast instead at the Rockmart History Museum in downtown on South Marble Street instead.
