It is going to be a creative weekend in Polk County as Rockmart and Cedartown both celebrate young artists in separate events.

Rockmart’s upcoming celebration is centered around the talented teens from Rockmart High School as the Rockmart Art Gallery hosts the 2024 Gala night for the school.

The annual event coming up on Saturday, April 27 is being hosted from 6 to 8 p.m.

Awards are set to be handed out at 7 p.m. after an opportunity for patrons to look over student artwork and even get a chance to purchase pieces to take home that might be for sale.

The annual event brings dozens of families and youth to the gallery to celebrate the showing of artwork from students, and ultimately judged by RHS Principal Dr. Bo Adams for the grand prize of the night.

Next Saturday’s gala night wraps up the spring show at the Rockmart Art Gallery, which host the show annually by the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center in March and April.

Check back for additional coverage from this year’s show next weekend.
