Rev. Doyle “Larry” Ritch Sr.

Rev. Doyle “Larry” Ritch, Sr., age 91 of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023. He was born on May 13, 1932 in Silver Creek. He was the son of the late Joseph Doyle and Dorothy Mae Davis Ritch.

Mr. Ritch wore many hats during his 91 years. He served in the National Guard for 12 ½ years.

He was called to preach in 1959 and to pastor in 1967 and served at five different churches across north Georgia; Fairview Church in Rockmart, GA, Faith Baptist in Cedartown, GA, Corner Stone in Taylorsville, GA, Welcome Grove in Marietta, and retired from Victory Baptist in Marietta in 2020.

He worked for W.D. Tripp J.C. Penny’s and also retired from Lockheed after 42 years.

Mr. Ritch is survived by his sons, D. Larry Ritch, Jr. (Sharon) and Kenny Ritch;brother, Rev. Paul Allen Ritch; grandchildren, Faith Ritch, Christy Tanner (Ritchie), and April Formby (Craig); great-grandchildren, Aislinn Carter, Aaron Carter, Sydney Tanner, Aubrey Tanner, Samuel Formby, Caleb Formby, and Taylor Formby; great-great-grandson, Brayden Tanner; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ritch is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 69 years, Mrs. Dorothy Ann Dingler Ritch; sister Martha Annis Hardin “sister” and great-grandson, Christopher Tanner.

The funeral arrangements for Rev. Doyle Larry Ritch will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at four o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Partain and Rev. Robert Boatner officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Paul Ritch officiating and with full military rites conducted by the Rockmart American Legion.

The family of Mr. Ritch will receive family and friends on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from two o’clock in the afternoon until funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Ritchie Tanner, Craig Formby, Samuel Formby, Caleb Formby, Aaron Carter, and Danny Grubbs.
