An arrest this past Saturday went down at Tractor Supply Company in Cedartown after a pair were watched by employees opening items and planning on taking them away, according to police reports.

Cedartown Police reported the arrest on April 3 around 10:30 a.m. of Nicolas Tyriq Lightner, 21, of 497 Ruff Road, Rockmart, and Taylor Nikole Thompson, 25, of 33 Main Line Road, Rockmart on multiple charges.

Police arrived at Tractor Supply after employees at the store called for help when they spotted the pair opening items in the aisle and Thompson placing them in her purse. After being approached by an officer in the store, a tube of gorilla glue and a lock that was stashed in Thompson’s purse fell out when she tried to grab her bag from the shopping cart they were pushing around the store.

Thompson was searched and also found to have a “brown/clear crystal-like substance” in a receipt likely to be methamphetamine.

Lightner was also found with a fake $100 bill, which he had planned to destroy at the jail. The reporting officer found another fake $100 bill inside his patrol car when searching, along with two round white pills in the back seat.

At the jail, Lightner’s belonging also contained a “purple straw wrapped in the fruity smelling rolling paper” in the pouch where suspected drugs were found earlier. Thompson’s jeans also were suspected to have more methamphetamine found in a pocket.
