Triston Drake Bright

A man remained in the Polk County Jail on felony and misdemeanor gun and drug charges after an officer arrived and found him at the scene of a panhandling complaint, according to Cedartown Police reports.

Triston Drake Bright, 20, of 1190 Dallas Highway, Dallas, (or 817 Buchanon Hwy., Dallas, per the Polk County Jail’s information,) was jailed on charges of possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, possession of a firearm or knife during commission of a crime and possession of marijuana and remained there with a $2,500 bond following an April 1 incident on Main Street.

Cedartown Police reported that they arrived to the scene around 4 p.m. to find Bright who told the officer that “he wasn’t harassing anyone in the parking lot.”

He gave officers his name, and found that he was being sought for a Floyd County warrant. Police searched him and found a hand gun, a small bag of marijuana and seven doses of Xanax.

Bright was previously in jail for a day arrested on a bench warrant back in March, and was bonded out for $1,305.
