Rockmart Police jailed a pair on drug charges after a search conducted during a traffic stop yielded methamphetamines and marijuana late this past Monday night, per a report.
Carlos Antonia Lindley, 30, and Donna Elizabeth Taylor, 24, both of 575 C W. Sims Rd., Hiram, were taken into custody on Monday, March 8, 2021 around 11:15 p.m. after they were pulled over by Rockmart Police when their plate ran through state and national computer systems showed that Lindley had a suspended license. They then made an improper left turn and police pulled them over.
The vehicle stopped and after a brief investigation of his driving status, Lindley was taken into custody without incident and was given the opportunity to let Taylor drive away.
Before she could leave, reports stated that an officer reported smelling marijuana in the vehicle which prompted other officers to arrive and look through the vehicle. Police reported that within the vehicle they found “a small plastic bag containing Methamphetamine was discovered in the passenger side door, A plastic bag containing Marijuana was discovered in Taylor’s purse, a glass smoking pipe containing Methamphetamine residue was discovered in a bag in the
backseat, a glass smoking device was discovered in a bag in the backseat, a plastic bag containing Methamphetamine residue was discovered in the same bag as the Methamphetamine smoking pipe, and a partially smoked Marijuana cigarette was discovered in the ash tray.”
A dog was also in the vehicle and ultimately turned over to Animal Control.
Taylor remained in jail on $7,000 bond on charges of felony Possession of Methamphetamine, and misdemeanor counts of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Related Objects.
Lindley was also still in jail as of this report with a $10,125.00 bond on felony Possession of Methamphetamine, and misdemeanor offenses for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Related Objects, driving on a suspended license, improper left or right turn, driving with a cracked windshield and no insurance.
