Michael Todd Zebeau

A Cedartown man remained in jail following a traffic stop on Thursday where Polk County Police officers ultimately found drugs in a fake spray can, according to reports.

Officers also found a firearm, cash and paraphernalia during the arrest of Michael Todd Zebeau, 59, of a Antioch Road address.

Per a posting on Facebook from the Polk County Police Department’s page, officers initially pulled Zebeau over on Thursday afternoon at the intersection of the Canal Street Extension and Piedmont Highway for failure to maintain lane. During the course of the stop and “roadside investigation” they found the spray can that seemed to be “differing in the normal weight” which turned out to have drugs inside.

Officers also found a digital scale, cash and a firearm during their search.

Zebeau remained in custody without bond set on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent, trafficking in cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana or methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, two counts of possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent. He also was charged with a misdemeanor for failure to maintain lane.

A full official report from the Polk County Police Department had not yet been approved for release.

Low key, Kelly Clarkson should do another version of “A Few of my Favorite Things”, and call it “A Few of my Favorite Things: Polk County”. What you see here is a few of the favorite things of a criminal: Dope, Money, and Guns. It’s also a few of our favorite things to seize, and take off the street 😎.

Yesterday afternoon, Corporal Mitchell & Officer Courson were riding “doubles”, conducting proactive patrol in the area of Canal Street Extension / Piedmont Highway. A traffic stop was conducted on a black GMC Truck after it was observed failing to maintain it’s lane.

During the roadside investigation by our Officers, a search of the vehicle led to our Officers discovering the can pictured below. Based on the proactive training that these two Officers have taken by the men & women at Street Cop Training, they observed that the can seemed to be differing in the normal weight that a usual can of spray has. Subsequently, the can was discovered to have a void that contained the illegal substances pictured below.

The driver of the vehicle, Micheal Zebeau (59 year old male, Cedartown) was placed under arrest without incident. The vehicle, money, and drug related objects were seized. A firearm was also located during this search 🫡.

The only way to begin to even make a dent in taking this stuff out of our community is through proactive policing, plain and simple. We’ll make it clear to you…We will continue to aggressively hunt this stuff down. We will seize your property if you are found with it. We will take you to jail 💯.

Instead of “Pardon my Pet”, the can should say “Pardon the Polk County Police Department for taking your drugs” 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Anyways, be good or be good at it 💙
