Mrs. Marian Dianne Ball Moats

Mrs. Marian Dianne Ball Moats, age 77, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.  She was born on June 19, 1943 in Cedartown.  She was the daughter of the late Milton Ball and Christine Daniels Coker.

Mrs. Moats retired from Polk School District with over 35 years of service.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown, and was a teacher for the Stella Roberts Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Moats is survived by her husband, Bobby Moats; daughter, Christi Hicks (Olin); sons, Richi Moats (Carrie) and Johnny Moats (Yvonne); sister, Jane Odom- Farrar; grandchildren, Savannah Moats Griffith (Tyler), Hunter Moats, Chris Hicks (Becka), John Thomas McCollum, and Brayden McCollum; and great-grandchildren, Dylan Hicks, CJ Hicks, Hailyn Baxter, and Aiden Baxter.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dianne’s caregiver, Jacqueline Wood for her care and devotion to Dianne over the past several months. 

The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Marian Dianne Ball Moats will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020 at two o’clock in the afternoon at First Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Benefield and Dr. Chris Moses officiating.  Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Blackmon officiating.  

The family of Mrs. Moats will receive family and friends on Monday, October 12, 2020 from twelve o’clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at First Baptist Church.

In accordance with the guidelines and recommendations set forth by the CDC, social distancing guidelines will be in place as well as the use of masks requested for all services provided for Mrs. Marian Dianne Moats.

The family is accepting flowers; however donations can also be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 101 N. College Street, Cedartown, GA 30125.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Hunter Moats, Chris Hicks, John Thomas McCollum, Brayden McCollum, Tyler Griffith, and Leroy Peugh. Honorary pallbearers will be the Stella Roberts Sunday School Class.
