Mrs. Lois Annette Ayers, age 74, passed away, Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
She was born in Cedartown, Georgia, on November 7, 1948, the daughter of Elmer Redmond and Louise Haynes Redmond.
She was a woman of God. She loved spending time with her family. She was called “Mama Lois” by many people because that is who she was. She loved unconditionally and saw the good in others. She is a woman like no other. She was and still is an angel, always watching over and protecting her family. She was a member of Young’s Grove Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Redmond and Louise Haynes Redmond; her grandparents, Bessie and Raymond Wilburn; her sons, John Ricky Ayers II, and John Ricky Ayers III, aka “Little Ricky”; brother, Billy Joe Haynes; and sister, Jackie Showalter.
Mrs. Ayers is survived by her husband, Ricky Ayers, aka “Big Ricky”, with whom she would have celebrated their 60-year anniversary on March 1, 2024; daughter, Brandi Johnson and her husband, Corey Johnson; her grandchildren: Andrew Ayers and Brayden Johnson; and her great-grandchildren: Shaveha “Gracie” Banks and Isaiah “King” Johnson. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings: Katherine “Kat” Smith, Janice Fortune, and Ronnie Haynes. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends also survive.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held, Sunday, September 3, 2023, at 3:00 PM, at the Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Brady West officiating, and a eulogy given by Miss Brandi Johnson. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Corey Johnson, Andrew Ayers, Brayden Johnson, David Fraiser, David Ayers, John Wesley Davis, and Jeff Youngblood.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, September 3, 2023, from 1:00 in the afternoon until the funeral hour, at the Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
