Mrs. Linda Murphy Jarrell, age 91 of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
She was born in Felton, Georgia on October 6, 1931. She was the daughter of the late William Linton and Zera Bowman Murphy.
Linda was a beloved mother and grandmother. She was a graduate of Tallapoosa High School and the University of Georgia.
During her life Linda enjoyed cooking, travel, flower arranging, needlework, and spending time with family.
Mrs. Jarrell is survived by her son, Bert Jarrell (Susan) of Marietta; daughter, Joelle Anna Lynn Kildare of Cedartown; and grandson, Hart Jarrell of Marietta.
She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Ken Murphy (Amy) of St. Augustine Beach, Florida, Jayne Hutchins (Terry) of Loganville, Peggy Murphy of Morganton, and Jim Murphy (Alin) of Atlanta. In addition, there are great nieces and great nephews as well as great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Robert J. Jarrell; son, Bill Jarrell; and brothers, Edward and Olin Murphy.
In keeping with Linda’s wishes, her body was cremated. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the Gammage Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on July 22, 2023 for immediate family.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Cedartown.
