Mr. John Allison Warren Sr., age 92, of Taylorsville, GA, passed away Sunday morning, October 8, 2023, at his residence.
Mr. Warren was born in Smyrna, GA, on June 3, 1931, son of the late Jesse James Warren and Eva Lee Kemp Warren.
He lived his early years in Cobb County, GA and graduated from McEachern High School. Mr. Warren has been in Bartow County since 1958 and was a member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Warren was the former owner of R&W Convenient Store and retired from Lockheed-Martin Aerospace Company. He enjoyed the outdoors and cutting grass.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Warren was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Nichols, nephews, Ronald, Donald and Billy Nichols, and a niece, Kris Warren.
Mr. Warren is survived by his wife of 67 years, Kay Roberson Warren, whom he married December 23, 1956; two sons, John Warren, Jr., (Terri) of Cartersville, GA, and Mark Warren (Lynn) of Taylorsville; six grandchildren, Shane Warren, Shelli Warren, Sherrie Short (Marty), Lindsey Saghy (Scott), Allie Deems (Eugene), and Jessica Shaw (Johnathan); brother, Fred Warren (Margaret) of Powder Springs, GA. Numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Warren will be held Tuesday afternoon, October 10, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Madison Elise delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in Taylorsville Cemetery.
Mr. Warren’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers will include Shane Warren, Mason Hall, Marty Short, Scott Saghy, Eugene Deems, and Johnathan Shaw.
