Mr. James Thomas Hopkins, age 62, of Buchanan passed away Monday August 28, 2023 at his residence.
Mr. Hopkins was born November 30, 1960 to the late Juell Hopkins and the late Carol Maples Hopkins.
Known for his love of logging, Mr. Hopkins made a successful career as a self-employed log hauler. Known to many and loved by all who knew him, Mr. Hopkins will leave behind a legacy of love and hard work.
Alongside his parents, Mr. Hopkins is preceded in death by his son, Joey Hopkins; brothers-in-law, Wayne Vines and Mike Swindall; sister, Linda Hill; and father-in-law, Billy Swindall.
Mr. Hopkins is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Hopkins; sons, James Hopkins, Jr. and Jeffery Hopkins; sister, Carolyn “Ann” Vines; grandchildren, Jacob Hopkins, Jadon Bowen, Kenzlei Hopkins, Paizlei Hopkins, and Eli Timms; and great-grandchildren, Nova Richardson and Kai Davidson.
Funeral Services for Mr. Hopkins will be conducted Friday September 1, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Randy Vines and Jason Hudgens speaking. Interment will follow in Sanders Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday August 31 between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM at Litesey Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jacob Hopkins, Jadon Bowen, Lamar Harrell, David Hand, Charles Swindall, and Junior Bollen. Honorary pallbearers will be Richie Puckett, Shane Cole, Chris Hopkins, and Dekota Colburn.
