Mr. James Allen Worthy, age 62 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 after an extended illness.
He was born on April 27, 1961 in Polk County. He was the son of the late Buddy Allen and Ruby Belle Carnes Worthy.
Mr. Worthy was a United States Veteran and served in the US Coast Guard. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Worthy is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia Wylene Chambers Worthy; daughters, Whitney Worthy and Jessica McDowell (Lee); grandchildren, Parker and Millie McDowell; sister, Donna Worthy; sister-in-law, Sissy Mason; father-in-law, Jimmy Chambers; and brother-in-law, Lewis Chambers.
Mr. Worthy is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Imogene Chambers; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Dorsey Chambers, Jr.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Worthy will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at six o’clock in the evening in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Chambers and Rev. Trey Chambers officiating. In keeping with Mr. Worthy’s wishes, he will be cremated after the funeral service.
The family of Mr. Worthy will receive family and friends on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from four o’clock in the afternoon until funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
