Mrs. Edith Katherine Baines, age 93, of Centre, AL passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023.
Mrs. Baines was born on May 15, 1931 in Custer County, OK. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Rosser M. Keese and Velma Lena Keese. Edith lived in Centre for the last 4 years of her life after moving from Rockmart, where she had lived the greater part of her life.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Rockmart and had worked as a nurse aide for Rockmart Nursing Home for many years before retiring.
Mrs. Baines enjoyed venturing to yard sales and tending to her flowers. Edith will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Lee Baines, Sr.; son, Walter Lee Baines, Jr. and sister, Murial Keese.
Edith is survived by her loving sons: Ross Baines and his wife, Cindy of Centre, AL, Rick Baines of Dallas, GA, and Mike Baines and his wife, Amy of Cedartown, GA; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Baines will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: David Baines, Jeramie Baines, A.J. Baines, Justin Baines, Jeff Baines and Josh Ozment.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the service begins at 1:00 PM.
