Mr. Doyce ” Eddie” Hooper, age 70, of Cedartown, Ga., passed away Monday, October 23, 2023.

Eddie was born on December 8, 1952, to the late Doyce and Bobbie Hooper. To some, he was known as Doyce or Mr. Hooper, but to many, he was best known as Daddy, Eddie, Edwardo, and Papa Flair.

He was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church. After spending the majority of his life working for Jockey and Honda, Mr. Hooper retired and began a self-employed career working on automotive body repairs.

During his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, attending car shows, spending time at the beach, and spending time with family. Eddie also proudly served in the National Guard for many years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lisa Hooper; mother and father-in-law, Howard “Snooks” and Bobbie McElwee.

Eddie is survived by his daughter, Jill McGee (Michael); son, Chance Hooper; grandchild, Harley McGee; sister-in-law, Terry Tillery; brothers-in-law, Robb McElwee and Greg McElwee (Shannon).

The family will hold a visitation on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church with Brother Barry Snapp officiating. The family will also receive friends on Sunday, October 29, 2023, beginning at 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. The interment will follow the funeral service at Northview Cemetery in Cedartown.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Brandy Brady, Matt Pizano, Deric Jones, Denver Nale, Nick Moore, Dylan Little, Zack McKibben, and David Williams. The following will serve as honorary pallbearers: Eugene Hooper, Rodney McFall, Todd Tillery, Jordan Hubbard, Jacob Hubbard, Joshua Hubbard, Dustin Little, Braden Shelton, Ed Worsham, Ray Worsham, Larry Wells, Glenn Vinson, Gary Dalton, Michael Gravett, and Ricky Dempsey.
