Downtown Cedartown and Rockmart are both hosting Trick or Treat events on Tuesday heading into the evening hours for Halloween 2023.

Cedartown businesses will be out from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for the annual parade of kids in costumes down Main Street, with a costume contest set to start in Holloway Park (in front of the courthouse) at 5:30 p.m.

Free Sno-Cones are being given out courtesy of Gammon, McFall & Villarreal, Attorneys at Law.

The October 31 event in Cedartown “spookily sponsored” by merchants will be matched with efforts over in Rockmart as well around the South Marble Street square area. This year’s Costume Contest is being put on by FHF Hair Design.

Those who are looking for additional opportunities can check out the Boo Bash coming up this Saturday evening at Biggers Field on Prior Street.

Rockmart’s Downtown Development Authority have organized this year’s Trick or Treating for 4 to 6 p.m. around the closed portion of Church Street on Tuesday evening. Church at Marble will be closed along with the parking spaces in front of the Veterans Memorial, which will also be hosting local businesses wishing to participate but aren’t located downtown.

The annual Festival of Treats in Rockmart returns to downtown after a few years hiatus due to the pandemic. Trick or Treaters instead were encouraged to take part in a drive-thru event at the Nathan Dean Sports Complex.

For those who also are looking to scout out a good candy opportunity, the village area of Aragon also has some prime spots for Trick or Treating this year. The city has not announced any formal plans for local youth this year.

One more event of note this Saturday: Mosaic Place is hosting Spooky Notes of Recovery with a Trick or Treat event which will include food, music, candy and an opportunity for kids to show off their costumes. It is happening from 5 to 9 p.m. on October 28 at Mosaic Place at 321 West Ave., Cedartown.
