Mr. Dennis Keith Shuman, age 65, of Cave Spring, GA, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023.
Keith was born in Munich, Germany, on January 2, 1958, son of the late John Richard Shuman and Joyce Parris Shuman. He had lived the greater part of his life in the Rockmart, GA area and was a 1976 graduate of Rockmart High School. Keith worked from 1976 until 2017 with Georgia Power, retiring from Plant Hammond as an electrical team leader. He enjoyed fishing and all aspects of lake life.
Keith was beloved by many people. Always the jokester, he loved cutting up with people and wanted to make sure everyone had a good time. He was just a fun person to be around. He was fiercely dedicated to his family and loved ones. He was a generous person and always stretched out a hand to those in need. Keith worked very hard throughout his career to provide a great life for his family and spent his last years enjoying his much-deserved retirement at his home on the lake.
In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his wife, Shelley Burch Shuman, on August 4, 2016.
Keith is survived by a daughter, Dr. Angela Shuman; son, Dennis Shuman; three brothers, Mike (Debbie) Shuman, Steven (Trina) Shuman, and Chris (Angie) Shuman. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Keith will be held Sunday afternoon, July 16, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
Keith’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Keith’s honor to the Polk School District Educational Foundation, which will be used to assist students going directly into the workforce just as he did.
