Mr. Carl Edward Williams, age 74, passed away, Thursday, July 20, 2023.
Mr. Williams was born, June 8, 1949, in Fruithurst, Alabama, the son of the late Addie Lee Jenkins and “Zebedee” Charles Williams.
Mr. Williams was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, fishing, and old cars. He always enjoyed listening to country music and time spent with his family. Mr. Williams had a special love for his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Osborne Williams and ten siblings.
Mr. Williams is survived by sons: Rodney Williams and Richard Williams and his wife, Bessie; daughters, Latasha Simmons and her husband, Tim, and Shianne Moore and her husband, Barry; sister, Lucy Anderson; brothers, Bob Williams and Lonzo Williams; and a “slew” of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 4:00 PM, in the chapel of the Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Ted Porterfield officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jamie Mosley, Mark Bentley, Ethan Womack, Jason Lee Warren, Bryan Folsom, and Richard Saunders. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Michael Esquivel, Rodney Williams, Jr., Hayden Williams, and Jerry Lee Simmons.
Mr. Williams’ family will receive friends, Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
