Mrs. Betty Mae Carnes Atkins, age 88 of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

She was born on February 15, 1935 in Haralson County. She was the daughter of the late Homer and Emma Timms Carnes.

Mrs. Atkins is survived by her daughters, Thayler Sue Mullinex (Gene) and Paulette McAdams (Chris); sons, Randy Ray Atkins (Debbie) and Darrell Atkins (Tami); grandchildren, Rachel Stark, Christy Casey, Paige Atkins, Denise Pope, Rodney McAdams, Ashley West, Jennifer Pinkard, and Emily Crane; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Atkins is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard Atkins; sisters, Myrtice Stroup, Lottie Wells, and Lucille Cain; and brothers, HC Carnes and four at birth.

The funeral service for Mrs. Atkins will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at three o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery with Rev. Jack Jarrett officiating.

The family of Mrs. Atkins will receive family and friends on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The family is accepting flowers; however, donations can also be made to Traditions Hospice, 497 Rome Street, Carrollton, GA 30117.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Kevin Pope, Austin Pope, Hayden Pope, Tyler Hood, Rodney McAdams, Dennis Stewart, and Pat Casey. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Bell and Joe Benefield.
