Mrs. Betty Jo Dempsey, age 93, of Cedartown, Ga., passed away on October 3, 2023.
Mrs. Dempsey was born June 30, 1930, to the late Thomas and Bessie Carmichael.
She was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church. She also retired from Georgia Power after 38 years of service.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, William “Dub” Dempsey; brothers Thomas Wilburn Carmichael, Emory Carmichael, and William E. Carmichael; sister, Martha Evelyn Swanson; nephew, Gary Carmichael.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews: Roger, Kenneth, and Anthony Swanson, Kristy Carmichael Hardaway, and Donna Carmichael Isgett.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Anthony Swanson, John Isgett, JT Isgett, and Will Miles.
The family will hold a graveside service at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., with Robert Wright officiating and niece Donna Isgett delivering a eulogy.
The family will be accepting flowers or memorial contributions to the Antioch Cemetery Fund.
