Mrs. Betty Jean Orebaugh, age 87, of Cedartown, passed away Wednesday morning, June 7, 2023.Mrs. Orebaugh was born February 8, 1936, in Polk County.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucille Lankford, and her husband, John Orebaugh.
She was a retired educator of the Polk School District with 18 years of service and was a long-time member of Lime Branch Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the church choir.
Jean Orebaugh is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Tim) Turner; sons, Jeff (Robbie) Orebaugh and Greg (Amy) Orebaugh; sisters, Sandy (Bobby) Horton and Linda Tanner; brother, Ricky Lankford; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 11 a.m., at Lime Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Crisp and Rev. Tommy McGuire officiating.
Mrs. Orebaugh will also lie in state at the Lime Branch Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Roger Kiser officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 9, 2023, from 5-7 p.m., at the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: grandsons Jonathan Orebaugh, Matthew Orebaugh, Blake Turner, Colin Turner, Alex Orebaugh and Luke Orebaugh; and nephew, Jacob Kiser.
