Alisha Suzanne McCullough

A local woman racked up charges with city and county police in recent months after three different reports alleged various criminal acts.

Alisha Suzanne McCullough, 48, of a Rockmart address, was booked into the Polk County Jail on Saturday after Cedartown Police, Polk County Police and Rockmart Police all took out charges against her for multiple felony and misdemeanor offenses.

The latest of those was reported by Rockmart Police in early November, when the owner of a store on West Elm Street went in to complete inventory and found three of the lottery machines were short $617.

Rockmart Police noted in their report the owner reviewed video surveillance footage and found McCullough and two others involved in taking the money – Ricky Chambers and a third person that officials are currently seeking for arrest warrants.

The video surveillance system captured the entire incident.

Cedartown Police in September reported that McCullough attempted to cash a check from another’s account at Regions Bank using a temporary ID from Alabama through the drive thru teller.

The manager at Regions knew the person that McCullough was attempting to use as a fake ID to cash the check, and didn’t allow it to go through. She told McCullough before she drove off that the computer systems went down and that she would call when the check was cashed.

When Cedartown Police took a look at the evidence, they found that the picture on the temporary ID matched McCullough, a suspect in a previous case for a forged check. The ID number came back to a completely different individual more than 100 miles away.

Polk County Police documented the theft of a truck key from a man while he was in the shower after an argument. This report was made on the same day in September that the check was attempted to be cashed at Regions Bank in Cedartown.

The report noted the man complaining did not want McCullough in any kind of trouble, but that he wanted his key to his truck.

Deputies from the Polk County Sheriffs Office caught up with McCullough on Saturday evening, December 2. She was released on a $21,000 bond on Monday on felony and misdemeanor charges.

Those included felonies for identity theft – fraud when using/possessing/identifying info concerning a person, second degree burglary and first degree forgery. She also faces misdemeanor charges of fourth degree forgery and theft by taking.
