Another jump in early voting figures came from Tuesday’s results as Polk County continues to have the opportunity to cast a ballot for the 2024 local and state primaries.

Voters in Cedartown have thus far cast 367 ballots, and Rockmart has brought out 295 people to take part in the primaries so far.

No increase in absentee ballots from Monday’s totals were available. They still sat at 172 requested, and 47 received as of the midweek update this morning from the Board of Elections.

Those who are seeking an absentee ballot must request it by Friday for it to arrive in the mail and voters to return it back to the board in time for the May 21 primary date vote counting. Call the Board of Elections for more information at 770-749-2103.

Voters are deciding several races countywide, and a couple in Rockmart proper for the 2024 Primary – which is all under the GOP ballot.

The County Commission District 1 and 3 races are countywide, along with Surveyor and Coroner. Two school board races – the District 5 and 6 seats – are only contested for voters who live within those districts.

Want to go vote? Make sure you’re registered and have a valid photo ID. Check your registration status here.

Check back for additional updates through the rest of the week.
