Santa Claus will be in town, plus the 45th annual Rotary Duck Race in store on Saturday

Downtown Rockmart will have vendors, food, fun and the 45th annual Rotary Duck Race coming up for the third annual Silver Comet Fest returning.

The annual fundraiser put on by the Rotary Club of Polk County will be bringing Santa downtown as well for photo opportunity and give holiday shopper the chance to find quality homemade crafts provided by local vendors in a variety of categories.

Shopping opportunities begin on Saturday morning when the festival opens at 10 a.m.

This year’s Duck Race is planned for the afternoon, so make sure to find a Rotarian or stop by their booth at the Silver Comet Vest vendor area to grab tickets while they last. Tickets are $5, and first prize provides the winner with $1,000!

Additional prizes are being given away as well during Saturday’s Duck Race for those who purchased tickets.

Games and youth activities will be available as well during Saturday’s event, and food vendors will also be on hand to provide snacks during the day.

For those who want a chance to relax and learn a little while taking a ride, Slate Quarry tours will also be happening during the event on Saturday.
