UPDATE:

Power (per the Georgia Power Outage Map) seems to have bene restored for a majority of the customers out around the Morgan Valley Road area.

Small pockets out outages are still underway.

A power outage impacting more than 1,200 customers in southern Polk County this morning following stormy weather pushing through the area.

Most of the rainfall and storms are now moving out of the area, and sunshine is set to be return this afternoon per the National Weather Service forecast.

Georgia Power reports that customers along Morgan Valley Road, Stringer Road, Government Farm Road, Zuker Road, McBride Road and Bethlehem Road are without power, impacting 1,244 customers at the moment.

Minor outages are impacting a small number of customers on Pine Mountain Road, Antioch Road, Taylorsville Road, and Church Street in Van Wert.

No other immediate damage from the weather has yet been reported by the Emergency Management Agency.
