Second Baptist Church of Cedartown will begin hosting a new program to teach boys how to become Godly men.

The Trail Life USA program – open for young boys from 5 up to teenage years – will begin meeting on Sundays at Second Baptist Church on Sunday evenings. A time hasn’t been fully set yet.

John Johnson and Pastor Justin Carter are leading the efforts, and those interested in more information can reach out to Carter at 770-748-5252 for those interested in enrolling their youth in the program. Parents can also email Johnson at johnjohnson0815@gmail.com.

Here’s a video announcement from the SBC Facebook Page:

Trail Life USA’s first troop (they are organized in troops, just like the scouts) is Polk County’s first to provide a scouting-style opportunity within the church itself. The troop will participate in outdoor activities and learn skills useful for their life and their faith.

Carter said that any kids who want to participate in the community are welcome to join.

The boys-only program does have a counterpart called Heritage Girls, and parents who may be interested in that for their children can reach out to the church, who will look into adding the program based on interest.
