Mr. Rodney J. Saucier

Mr. Rodney J. Saucier, “RJ”, age 90 of Acworth, Georgia, formerly of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

He was born on October 24, 1932 in New Orleans. He was the son of the late John F. and Enola E. Decker Saucier.

Mr. Saucier is survived by his wife, Pamela Boyd Saucier; daughters, Robin Taff (Frank) and Tina Herron (Mike); son, Scott Saucier (Cindy); brother, Robert (Bob) Saucier; grandchildren, Will Johnson (Meg), Katie Brown (Garrett), Drew Johnson (Lindsay), John Taff (Anna Kozlowski), David Taff (Marissa), Chris Saucier (Haley Crane), Jordan Herron, Spencer Herron, Michael Herron (Ciyanne), and Savanna Herron; and great-grandchildren, Shep Johnson, Kelly Ann Johnson, Ford Taff, Theo Brown, Beau Taff, Rukia Herron and Aiden Herron.

Mr. Saucier is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Bobbie Saucier (mother of Robin, Lisa and Scott); daughter, Lisa Johnson (Bill); and grandparents, John J. Saucier and Frances Saucier.

In keeping with Mr. Saucier’s wishes’ he was cremated. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rome. Inurnment will follow at a later time at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

The family of Mr. Saucier will receive family and friends on Friday, July 14, 2023 from five o’clock in the evening until seven o’clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home; along with a second visitation on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church from ten o’clock in the morning until noon.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to either: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; Shriner’s Hospital for Kids; or St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Rome.
