Christian Dargedon Earwood

A driver who drifted over the fog line too far got pulled over after officers requested information about the tag and found he had an active warrant, but found more inside the car than expected per Polk County Police reports.

Officers pulled over Christian Dargedon Earwood, 23, of a Rockmart address, around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning near the intersection of East Avenue and Rolling Hills Road in Cedartown for the active warrant for his arrest.

Earwood was told to get out of the car by the officer pulling him over, and when he questioned the traffic stop the officer “opened the driver’s door and assisted Earwood out of the vehicle.”

The officer also noted that he believed he smelled marijuana coming from inside the car. Instead what he found were harder drugs: two bags of methamphetamine. Police also found an H&R .22 caliber revolver and a Davis Industries .22 caliber pistol.

Both the firearms and the drugs were taken as evidence, and nothing else was found inside of the car.

Police took Earwood onto jail and let a passenger who was in the car with him go without any further incident.

Earwood remained in custody as of this posting on a $10,500 bond on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of a firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, and misdemeanor charges of probation violation and failure to maintain lane.
