Kenview Farms is going to be busy come Saturday morning as the summer fun continues for youth at the 2023 Kids Fishing Rodeo.
The June 10 event will be starting at 8 a.m. and will allow youth and their families to come enjoy a day of fishing at Kenview Farms just outside of Rockmart until 2 p.m.
Anyone 15 and under can dip one pole per person into the pasture lake. Those who catch bait fish can keep them, but no minnows are allowed to be used. DNR officials said other kinds of bait is fine.

Free food – hot dogs, chips, cookies and drinks – will be available for participants at the free event, and Sno Cones after are being given out too.
Youth who get bored with waiting for their line to wiggle and tug can get up and head over to check out a fire truck being brought out on Saturday morning, and a bulldozer being provided by Georgia Forestry.
The Department of Natural Resources is also expected to bring one of their helicopters out to land and show off as well, though the immediate timing of the landing is to be determined. Officials are hoping to have it out for youth and their families to check out before noon.
Donations for the event have come in from GFL Environmental, Birchfield Photography, Rockmart Walmart, Cedartown Home Depot, On The Spot Locksmith, and others.
Blueberry Farm at Hills Creek is one of this year’s newest sponsors as well.
