Mrs. Oveline “June” Purser, age 91, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023.
Mrs. Purser was born in Clarkesville, GA on July 11, 1931, a daughter of the late Caney D. Eller and the late Lona Carolyn Chastain Eller.
June had been a resident of Rockmart since 1997 moving from Doraville, GA.
She was a member of Rockmart First United Methodist Church and was retired from Dekalb County School System. She enjoyed walking in her neighborhood, sewing, gardening and bowling. June was famous for her homemade buttermilk biscuits.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Purser; grandson, John Randolph; and six brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Purser is survived by her three daughters, Faye Randolph and her husband, George of Carrollton, TX, Maye Weyhmiller and her husband, Bob of Ft. Myers, FL and Jan Purser of Rockmart; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Murrey officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 12:30 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
