The work is all done, the shelves are stocked and the doors are now open for On the Rocks.
Rockmart’s second liquor store headed up by Atkins Electric owner Grant Atkins is now open for business after the ceremonial ribbon cutting with the Polk County Chamber of Commerce, friends and family and local officials gathered Wednesday morning at On the Rocks.
The city’s second liquor store located at 103 GTM Parkway will begin operating under their normal hours on October 25, 2023.
The new store provides multiple selections for the discerning tastes at reasonable prices including a beer fridge for beverages that are already chilled and ready to be enjoyed in the comfort of one’s home.
On the Rocks is open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays 12:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Eight employees were hired to run the store for the seven days a week schedule.
Concrete flooring to exposed beams and heating and air ducting, the new store from floor to ceiling provides a clean, easy-to-navigate space for customers and employees alike.
On the Rocks is Rockmart’s second permitted liquor store within city limits following the voters approval on the 2021 ballot to allow package sales. Atkins was one of two lottery winners of business owners who submitted applications to become operators in the city in 2022.
Atkins began construction on the store attached to Carquest Auto Parts earlier this year.
