Mr. William “Bill” Carmichael, age 82, of Cedartown passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021.

Bill was born August 24, 1938 to the late Thomas Wesley “TW” Carmichael and Bessie Atkins Carmichael. He was a loving husband, dedicated father, and Papa, most importantly he was a profound Christian.

He and his partner Guy Atkins were co-owners of C & A Auto Parts in Rockmart for almost 40 years. He enjoyed restoring vintage cars.

Mr. Carmichael was also a proud member of New Harmony Baptist Church where he had worshipped for 59 years and serve as a deacon since 1976. Never meeting a stranger, he was always willing to carry on a conversation.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Swanson; brother, C.E. “Emory” Carmichael; brothers in law, Arthur Swanson and Dub Dempsey.

Mr. Carmichael is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lois Carmichael, daughter and son in law, Donna & John Isgett; grandchildren, Sarah Isgett and John Thomas “J.T.” Isgett; sister, Betty Jo Dempsey, sister in law, Jill Carmichael, and brother in law, Spencer Brazier. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Graveside funeral service for Mr. Bill Carmichael will be held Monday, April 26, 2021 at Polk Memory Gardens with Dr. DeWayne New, Mr. Ken Rowell, and Rev. Phillip Drake officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Rick Duvall, Freddie Giles, Doug Elkins, and Grady McCrickard. Honorary pallbearers include Ted Smith, Roger Swanson, Kenneth Swanson, Anthony Swanson, Buford May, Charles Baldwin, and Donald Ray Baldwin.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully ask that memorial contributions can be made to New Harmony Baptist Church, 191 New Harmony Rd. Cedartown, GA 30125.
