Mr. Thomas Eugene “Gene” Wilson, age 76 of Rockmart, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
Mr. Wilson was born September 22, 1945 in Talladega, Alabama, son of the late Barney Wilson and the late Donzie Wright Brewer.
He was a 1963 graduate of Talladega High School and served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church PCA of Cedartown.
He had been in the insurance business for 30+ years, having been the owner of Gene Wilson Agency of Rockmart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Wright; and a brother, Guy Brewer.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Watson Wilson of Rockmart; two daughters, Tanya Wilson Parson and her husband James of Gwinnett County and Bethanie Wilson of Oxford, Alabama; a sister, Edna and Doyle Haywood of Talladega, Alabama; two grandchildren, Joshua and Nicole Bishop and Draven Green; two great-grandchildren, Shelbi Bishop and Alexander Thomas Bishop; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Wilson will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church PCA of Cedartown with Rev. Matt Rabe and Rev. John Ragland officiating. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church Saturday prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: James Parson, Joshua Bishop, Draven Green, Bobby Brooks, Mike Hogg and Alexander Thomas Bishop.
