Ms. Betty W. Parsons, age 91, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 14, 2024, at her residence.
Ms. Parsons was born in Aragon, GA, on August 8, 1932, daughter of the late Guy Wallace and Alma Garrett Wallace.
She had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart and was a member of Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church.
Ms. Parsons retired from the City of Rockmart after many years of service. She never met a stranger and loved to sew, enjoyed putting together puzzles, working word search puzzles and in her younger days was always up for a fishing trip.
In addition to her parents. Ms. Parsons was preceded in death by a brother, George “Buddy” Wallace.
Ms. Parsons is survived by two children, Susan (Marlow) Williams of Rockmart and Wallace (Paula) Parsons of Cedartown, GA. Three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews along with many extended family members also survive.
Graveside and interment services for Ms. Parsons will be held on Friday afternoon, May 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. John Hooper officiating.
Ms. Parsons’ family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Friday from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Ronald Brackett, Robert Torline, Danny Smith, Steve Cook, and Ron Campbell.
Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of the arrangements for Ms. Betty W. Parsons.
