Mr. Jimmy W. Russell, age 84, formerly of Cedartown, passed away on December 18, 2021 in Savannah, Georgia.
Mr. Russell was born October 30, 1937 in Akron Ohio, the son of the late William Acton Russell and the late Winnie Clyde Merrill Russell.
Mr. Russell was an Eagle Scout, a 1956 Cedartown High School graduate, and a 1960 Auburn University graduate.
After graduating from Auburn, Mr. Russell served his country as an officer in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Russell spent his working career as a manufacturer sales representative and resided most of his life in Cedartown.
He was a faithful member of the Cedartown First United Methodist Church and past member of the Cedartown Exchange Club; 50 Club; and Cherokee Golf & Country Club. He was also an avid Auburn football fan.
Survivors include his sister, Barbara Russell Teberg of Crystal Lake IL; son and daughter-in-law, Mark Russell (Emily) of Atlanta GA; grandsons Sam Russell, Cavan Russell & Louis Russell; son and daughter-inlaw, Craig Russell (Tiffani) of Richmond Hill GA; grandsons Cooper Russell (Caroline); Caleb Russell; Lance Corporal Turner Russell USMC; two nephews and one niece also survive.
A memorial service for Mr. Jimmy W. Russell will be held Sunday January 2nd at 2:00 at Smith & Miller Funeral Home, Cedartown, GA.
