Mr. Franklin D. Statham Sr.

Mr. Franklin D. Statham, Sr., age 88, of Rockmart, GA passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020.

He was born in Rockmart, GA on November 8, 1932 a son of the late Samuel E. Statham and the late Lucy Brown Statham. Mr. Statham had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart and was a graduate of Rockmart High School. He operated Statham Red & White Supermarket for many years before entering the real estate business.

He owned and operated Frank Statham Realty for nearly fifty years. Mr. Statham had served as a member of the Board of Directors of Peoples Bank now known as BB & T. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Rockmart. Mr. Statham had served as a Deacon of both the Second Baptist Church of Rockmart and Calvary Baptist Church, had served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and had also served as Sunday School Superintendent.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Earline Culver Statham on September 14, 2013; by a grandson, Brad Statham, by a granddaughter, Emily Soles and by three brothers: Hoyt, Bobby and Billy Statham.



Mr. Statham is survived by two sons: Frank Statham, Jr. and his wife Nita, Marietta and Eddie Statham and his wife Donna, Rockmart; two daughters: Carol Statham Hutcheson and her husband David, Rockmart and Jill Soles and her husband Charles, Cedartown; sister, Shelba Statham Wright and her husband Chuck, Rockmart; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 3:00 pm in Rockmart Memorial Gardens with Rev. Levi Wyatt and Rev. Richard Smith officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Kyle Statham, Sonny Millhollan, Joshua Millhollan, Dalvin Millhollan, Jalon Millhollan, Cody Statham, Will Statham and Brantley Millhollan. Corey Vaughn and Thomas Knowles will serve as honorary pallbearers.



The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and facial coverings are recommended.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial gifts be made to the Calvary Baptist Church of Rockmart.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Franklin D. Statham, Sr.
