It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Michael Perry Fitzgerald, age 75 of Cedartown, Georgia, he passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.
Mr. Fitzgerald was born on February 19, 1948 in Cedartown. He was the son of the late Aaron D. Fitzgerald and Wenona Guice Fitzgerald.
Michael was an honor graduate of CHS in 1966. He also was a graduate of UGA with a major in Agronomy and a minor in Art. He also served in the US Army.
Michael retired from the city of Bremen Waste Water Treatment Facility where he worked as a treatment operator.
Mr. Fitzgerald is survived by his sister, Sarah F. Kuhlman; son, Patrick R. Herring; nephew, David P. Kuhlman; and several cousins.
Mr. Fitzgerald is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Herman K. Fitzgerald.
A special thanks to long time caregivers Mr. Larry Dorsey, his cousin and special friends, Arthur Crawford and Lark Hall.
A graveside service for Mr. Fitzgerald will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at two o’clock in the afternoon in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating with full Military Rites conducted by the Brown-Wright Post 12 American Legion.
