Loyce Marie (Holloway) Chastain, age 81 of Rockmart, formerly of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
Loyce was born May 4, 1942, in Gilmer County, GA to her late parents William Thomas and Essa Mae (Chapman) Holloway. Loyce was a longtime member of the Boardtown Church of Christ but was currently attending the Rockmart Church of Christ.
Loyce is preceded in death by her husband O.D. Chastain, brother Romain Holloway, sister Carolyn Howard, and infant sister JoAnn Holloway.
Survivors include her children Marie (Wade) McDaris, Danny Chastain (Gayle Watkins), Phillip (Cindy) Chastain, grandchildren Andrew (Whitley) McDaris, Nicole (Cody) Smith, Evan (Brittany) McDaris, Madison Hulsey, and Makalie Chastain, great-grandchildren Drew McDaris, Gracie McDaris, Kinzlee Hess, Eilen Hess, Eli Smith, Reagan McDaris, Cohutta McDaris, Sawyer Drain, and Collin Crook, siblings Sharon (Johnny) Bearden, Kirbi (Linda) Holloway, brother-in-law Billy Howard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 10 am to 12 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 12:30 pm at the Boardtown Church of Christ with Min. Justin Mason, Min. Butch Jones, and Brad Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Boardtown Church of Christ cemetery with Tommy Stenberg, Shannon Bearden, Ryan McDaris, Drew McDaris, Cody Smith, Brad Collins, Andrew McDaris, and Evan McDaris serving as pallbearers, Tony Barnes and Keith Sorrells will serve as honorary pallbearers.
