The West Cinema had a fun night for local youth and their families on Monday night thanks to owners who wanted to provide a holiday treat for foster children.

Santa Claus made an appearance as well as foster families got to enjoy a free movie night during the 6 p.m. showing, along with concessions.

The Grinch and Santa made appearances during the event, made possible by owners Jon and Vipi Dunn.

A group of 65 joined in for the fun.

“During this season of giving its a blessing to have wonderful community partners,” organizers from the Polk County Foster Parent Association.

The organization also has plans for later in the season. A Brunch with Santa is coming up this weekend, organized annually by AdventHealth Redmond EMS at the Boys and Girls Club in Cedartown.

Fun Wheel Skating Center is additionally set to host families during an evening with free skating and food later this month, with a Santa appearance as well. The event is only for foster parents and their children.
