There’s a new opportunity this summer to enjoy time downtown and grab some great food thanks to a new partnership between a local club and the Rockmart Downtown Development Authority.

Food Truck Fridays are set to begin next month with Jeeps in June on June 20 from 5 to 8 p.m., organized by the Rockmart Kiwanis Club and the Downtown Development Authority.

The summer fun continues with Tailgate Time on July 18, and then finishes out with the Dog Dayz Parade on August 15.

The family-friendly event will include entertainment and opportunity for exploring and shopping downtown Rockmart, though the food trucks and Kiwanis-organized themes around each month’s Food Truck Friday will be the centerpiece.

Food Trucks will be setup around the Silver Comet Trailhead in downtown, and provide access to downtown businesses and shopping.

The opening month’s event invites those who love their Jeeps to come and park them around downtown for a display. July will focus on trucks and tailgaters, while August is all about those Dog Days of Summer with a Dog Dayz Parade. Participants are encouraged to bring their pups along to take part in the parade.

Organizers encourage those with appetites and lawnchairs to come out and enjoy the event starting in June.
